Verizon, AT&T Popped With Data Storage Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 24, 2010, 4:12 PM EDT) -- Realtime Data LLC has accused AT&T Inc., Sprint Nextel Corp. and several other wireless carriers of infringing eight accelerated data storage patents, marking the plaintiff's latest assault over the technology.

The complaint — filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas — claims that the defendants' use of data compression and acceleration in their network for downlink data transmission violates the patents-in-suit.
