Law360, New York (September 27, 2010, 11:41 AM EDT) -- Vivendi SA said Monday it had sold a 7.66 percent stake in NBC Universal Inc. to General Electric Corp. for $2 billion, advancing a $37 billion deal in which cable giant Comcast Corp. will take control of the television network and its substantial broadcast and Internet assets.
The remainder of Vivendi’s stake — 12.34 percent — will be sold for $3.8 billion to GE on completion of the GE-Comcast transaction, the French media company said.
