Accusers Of Amaranth Win Class Certification

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 7:24 PM EDT) -- The plaintiffs in a suit accusing defunct hedge fund Amaranth Advisors LLC of manipulating the prices of natural gas futures contracts have won class certification.

Judge Shira Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday certified a class consisting of persons who purchased New York Mercantile Exchange natural gas futures contracts, which had certain expiration dates and fulfilled other criteria, between Feb. 16, 2006, and Sept. 28, 2006.
