Ex-Raytheon Workers Demand Medical Monitoring

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 12:44 PM EDT) -- A group of former employees of Raytheon Co. has launched a putative class action against the defense contractor, claiming they were exposed to potentially harmful levels of beryllium while working at a now-shuttered Waltham, Mass., plant.

The ex-employees want Raytheon to pay for future medical monitoring costs and expenses incurred by their families, who also breathed in beryllium dust and particles the workers brought home, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
