BBC, Others Win Dismissal Of Suit Over TV Show Idea

Law360, New York (September 30, 2010, 2:57 PM EDT) -- The BBC, Travel Media Inc. and NBC Universal Inc. have beaten allegations that the media companies stole the idea for the reality television show “The Great American Road Trip.”

Judge Dora L. Irizarry of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Wednesday dismissed with prejudice racketeering and other claims that Christopher Cardillo asserted over the NBC show, in which families from different backgrounds travel across the country while competing in challenges.
