Jury: Vonage To Pay $58M In Verizon Patent Suit

Law360 (March 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Vonage Holdings Corp. has trampled three of Verizon Communications Inc.’s patents for Internet phone call technology, and should pay $58 million in damages, a jury decided on Thursday.

The verdict fell short of Verizon’s claims that its upstart rival had infringed on five of its patents and should shell out $197 million. Still, the telecom leader said it was happy with the decision.
