Judge Trims Class Action Against Quaker Oats

Law360, New York (October 15, 2010, 3:58 PM EDT) -- A California judge has tossed most of a putative class action against Quaker Oats Co., saying federal law preempts a majority of the plaintiffs’ state law claims that Quaker Oats’ Chewy-brand granola bar box labels were designed to mislead consumers about the bars’ health value.
