7th Circ. Sends NCAA Lottery Spat To State Court

Law360, New York (October 18, 2010, 6:42 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court gave the NCAA a fresh chance to prevail in a proposed nationwide class action Monday, vacating its earlier decision that a district court had erred in letting the NCAA off the hook in a suit accusing the athletic association of operating illegal lotteries to sell and distribute tickets.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit granted the NCAA's petition for rehearing, vacated its previous opinion, stayed the appeal and certified three questions in the suit to the Indiana Supreme Court....
