Steering Committee Formed For Toyota MDL In Texas

Law360, New York (October 19, 2010, 6:10 PM EDT) -- A Texas judge has approved the creation of a plaintiffs' steering committee to manage nearly two dozen consolidated state court cases over allegations of sudden unintended acceleration problems with Toyota Motor Corp.'s vehicles.

Judge Robert Schaffer of the 152nd District Court for Harris Country, Texas, on Friday appointed five attorneys to serve on the plaintiffs' steering committee for the roughly 23 product liability and personal injury cases related to acceleration problems and other defects in various Toyota vehicles, attorneys from both sides confirmed Tuesday.
