FedEx Hit With $66M Verdict In ATA Contract Battle

Law360, New York (October 20, 2010, 2:20 PM EDT) -- A federal jury has issued a $66 million verdict against FedEx Corp., finding that the company breached a valid long-term contract with ATA Airlines Inc. to provide service for military passengers.

The unanimous verdict, handed down in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on Tuesday, determined that ATA should be awarded a total of $65.9 million in lost profits for fiscal years 2008 and 2009.
