Securities Suit Over Nvidia Chip Failures Tossed

Law360, New York (October 21, 2010, 1:14 PM EDT) -- Ruling that the plaintiffs did not adequately plead their allegations, a judge has dismissed, with leave to amend, a proposed class action securities suit against Nvidia Corp. that claims the semiconductor company misled investors about problems with its chips.

Judge Richard Seeborg of the U.S. District for the Northern District of California ruled Tuesday that a consolidated complaint filed in January failed to show that Nvidia knew during the class period that the chips were causing laptop computers in which they were installed to fail....
