Battle For TSA's "Ad Bins" Triggers Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. Transportation Security Administration pilot program to get free equipment for airport security checkpoints in exchange for allowing advertising on screening bins has triggered a patent infringement lawsuit.

The complaint was filed on March 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida by SecurityPoint Media LLC, a company built around a patent covering the placement of ads on plastic bins that take passenger belongings through metal detectors.
