Toyota Secretly Bought Back Defective Cars: Suit

Law360, New York (October 29, 2010, 2:47 PM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in the multidistrict litigation over unintended acceleration in Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles have expanded their complaint to include new allegations that the auto giant confirmed the existence of the problem and concealed it by secretly buying back affected cars from consumers.

On Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the plaintiffs filed an amended master consolidated complaint that stretches for 725 pages, not including 340 pages of exhibits, and makes several new claims about Toyota's knowledge of the acceleration problem....
