Google, Onix Sue DOI Over Cloud Computing RFQ

Law360, New York (November 1, 2010, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. has sued the U.S. Department of the Interior over the agency's request for quotes on a cloud computing system, saying it decided in advance to contract with competitor Microsoft Corp.

Microsoft's Business Productivity Online Suite-Federal product was deemed the only system capable of meeting security and other requirements, despite not having earned certification under the Federal Information Security Management Act, Google said in a complaint Friday in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
