EPA Fines Safety-Kleen Over PCB Violation

Law360, New York (November 4, 2010, 1:24 PM EDT) -- Industrial waste manager Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. has agreed to pay a penalty of $210,000 to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency after improperly shipping used oil containing polychlorinated biphenyls.

The Plano, Texas-based company, one of the nation's largest oil recyclers, paid the fine to resolve violations of federal toxic substance regulations at its facilities in New York and New England, the EPA announced Thursday.
