UK Eyes News Corp.'s $12.6B BSkyB Bid

Law360, New York (November 5, 2010, 4:05 PM EDT) -- The British government has called for a review of U.S. media giant News Corp.'s proposed takeover of British Sky Broadcasting PLC to determine whether the $12.6 billion deal will raise competition concerns in the media sector.

U.K. Secretary of State for Business Vince Cable issued an intervention notice Thursday on the proposal by News Corp., America's second-largest media outlet, to acquire the BSkyB shares that it does not already own.
