Judge OKs $3.5M Deal For Google AdWords Class

Law360, New York (November 8, 2010, 2:12 PM EST) -- A federal judge has preliminarily approved a $3.5 million class action settlement resolving unfair competition claims accusing Google Inc. of duping advertisers into paying for content ads through its AdWords program.

Judge Ronald M. Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Friday certified the class for settlement purposes, appointed class counsel and representative, and set a final hearing for March 11.
