GAO Denies Contract Protest Over $15M Tent Buy

Law360, New York (November 29, 2010, 7:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has denied a protest by California Industrial Facilities Resources Inc., doing business as CAMSS Shelters, over a $15.2 million procurement order for military tents, rejecting arguments that the tents were not appropriate purchases under open-ended logistics supply contracts.

CAMSS, which is not a party to the disputed contracts, had argued that the tents were inappropriate purchases under the contracts because they were not "survival-type tents that can be carried by a soldier," according to the GAO decision.
