Ex-EMC Exec Wants Court Approval To Join Rival

Law360, New York (November 29, 2010, 7:28 PM EST) -- A former EMC Corp. executive has filed a preemptive suit against the information technology giant seeking a court order that will allow him to work for a New York-based rival.

The company's one-time finance director, Peter McKeever, filed a complaint against EMC in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Wednesday seeking a declaratory judgment that a 12-month noncompete clause in his employment contract has expired, a ruling that would authorize him to work for one of EMC's competitors, the start-up Knowledgent Group Inc....
