High Court Urged To Take On Contingency Fees Suit

Law360 (December 1, 2010, 4:42 PM EST) -- Industry groups are urging the U.S. Supreme Court to hear lead paint manufacturers' challenge to a California Supreme Court ruling allowing local governments to retain contingency fee counsel to prosecute public nuisance cases.

The American Chemistry Council and other industry groups filed an amicus brief Nov. 24 recommending that the high court review the ruling, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business organizations followed suit Nov. 26.
