Court Tosses Claims In “Pooh” Dispute

Law360, New York (March 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has thrown out a number of claims against Walt Disney Co. brought by the family that has the merchandising rights to the “Winnie the Pooh” trademark.

Judge Florence-Marie Cooper dismissed three of the Slesinger family’s claims in a bitter copyright battle over the honey-craving bear in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Tuesday.
