Feds Unhappy With Madoff Employee's Bail Proposal

Law360, New York (December 13, 2010, 4:11 PM EST) -- Attorneys for longtime Bernard L. Madoff employee Annette Bongiorno sparred with U.S. prosecutors Monday over final terms for a $5 million bond package, raising the possibility that the previously released defendant may have to return to federal custody.

Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York agreed to allow Bongiorno to remain confined in her Florida home until Thursday but warned that the “window is closing” for her attorneys to reach a more permanent release agreement.
