Samsung Can't Keep DRAM Pleas From SRAM MDL

Law360, New York (December 17, 2010, 6:04 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ruled that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. cannot exclude evidence of its guilty plea in a criminal price-fixing case over dynamic random access memory chips from an upcoming civil trial over static RAM.

Judge Claudia Wilken of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued an order Thursday denying Samsung's request to exclude evidence of the plea, but said she will issue a limiting instruction.

The judge agreed to exclude evidence of Samsung's leniency agreement with prosecutors in the U.S....
