BP Loses Bid To Depose Oil Spill Witnesses In Texas

Law360, New York (January 4, 2011, 12:43 PM EST) -- The first round of depositions in the multidistrict litigation over the Deepwater Horizon disaster will take place in New Orleans, despite pleas from BP PLC to hold them at its offices in Houston.

Judge Carl J. Barbier of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said Monday that all BP employees except for three U.K. residents must travel to New Orleans to give fact depositions on the April 20 oil rig blast and subsequent spill.
