Hospitals Get Go-Ahead To Sue Transcribers For Fraud

Law360 (April 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A lawsuit brought by five Florida hospitals against a transcription provider accused of systematic overbilling can move forward, after a judge denied a motion to dismiss the suit.

The decision by federal judge Jerome Simandle, of the New Jersey district court, paves the way for what is expected to be one of the largest class actions ever launched by corporations against another company, according to plaintiffs’ lawyers.
