Judge Questions Jurisdiction In PS3 Hacker Suit

Law360, New York (January 14, 2011, 7:14 PM EST) -- A federal judge in California declined Friday to rule on a temporary restraining order Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC is seeking against alleged PlayStation 3 hacker George Hotz, and instead questioned whether the suit belonged in her courtroom.

During a hearing, Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California directed Sony to prepare a supplemental brief on the question of jurisdiction in the case against the New Jersey resident, according to Stewart Reynolds Kellar, an attorney representing Hotz.
