NFL Union Says Retiree Suit Is Out Of Bounds

Law360, New York (April 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The NFL Players Association is fighting back against a proposed class of 3,500 former players who accuse the union of not distributing tens of millions of dollars from licensing deals that is owed to them.

Players Inc., the union’s for-profit licensing unit, filed several motions in a California federal court Wednesday seeking to dismiss the “baseless” suit, in which three retired players allege breach of fiduciary duty and unjust enrichment.
