Former Vivendi Exec Cries Foul Over Pension Cut

Law360, New York (April 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former vice chairman of Vivendi SA has slapped his one-time employer with a lawsuit, accusing the media and entertainment giant of unfairly slashing his pension payments by 65%.

On Tuesday, Edgar Bronfman Jr. filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, charging Vivendi with breach of contract.

“Vivendi’s refusal to honor its commitment violates the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974,” the complaint stated.
