Welch To Spend $30M To Settle Juice-Labeling Suit

Law360, New York (February 8, 2011, 1:58 PM EST) -- Welch Foods Inc. has agreed to distribute at least $30 million in coupons and offer refunds to certain customers to settle two class actions alleging the company deceptively marketed a white grape and pomegranate juice blend.

Welch filed an updated motion to approve the settlement Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The settlement papers were originally filed in January in one case, but the case was subsequently consolidated with another identical suit, requiring the motion to be refiled.
