LCD Cos. Move To Stay Fla., Mich. Consumer Claims

Law360, New York (February 8, 2011, 6:11 PM EST) -- Toshiba Corp., Sharp Corp. and six other thin film transistor liquid crystal display manufacturers facing a price-fixing multidistrict litigation have asked a federal court to stay allegedly duplicative claims recently lodged by the attorneys general of Michigan and Florida.

The states' parens patriae claims brought on behalf of consumers are identical to indirect purchaser claims currently pending in the MDL and should be put on hold pending the outcome of the earlier-filed litigation, the manufacturers argued in a motion filed Monday in the U.S. District Court...
