SBA Says New Rules Will Slash Gov't Contractor Fraud

Law360, New York (February 11, 2011, 7:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Small Business Administration finalized rules Friday targeting waste, fraud and abuse in a federal program that helps small businesses attain government contracts, tightening requirements for joint ventures and firms owned by Indian tribes.

The changes to the 8(a) Business Development program, which were published in the Federal Register on Friday, mark the first major overhaul of the program in the past decade, the SBA said.
