Ohio AG Hits BP With Class Action Over Pension Losses

Law360 (February 14, 2011, 8:33 PM EST) -- The Ohio attorney general has filed a putative class action in a multidistrict litigation against BP PLC on behalf of several pension funds that suffered losses after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The complaint, which will be filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleges that BP was “wholly unprepared to prevent and deal with” the explosion on the Macondo oil rig that sent millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, according to a statement from Attorney General...
