Landlords Ask Ch. 11 Judge To Make Blockbuster Pay Up

Law360 (February 17, 2011, 7:04 PM EST) -- Landlords for 38 Blockbuster Inc. locations have asked the judge overseeing the movie rental giant’s Chapter 11 proceedings to order the chain to either pay up about $450,000 in back rent or hit the road.

Blockbuster owes UBS Realty Investors LLC and three other rental companies about $12,000 in back rent, on average, on each of 38 different locations despite its promise to stay current on all obligations during its Chapter 11 proceedings, the landlords said in a motion to compel payment filed Wednesday in the...
