Farmers Employees Bag Class Cert. In ERISA Fight

Law360, New York (February 18, 2011, 3:57 PM EST) -- A federal judge certified a class of Farmers Insurance Exchange employees Friday in a suit alleging that the company failed to credit employee profit-sharing accounts for back wages won in a previous California state court class action.

Judge Jacqueline H. Nguyen granted lead plaintiff David Wilson's bid for class certification in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, shooting down Farmers' argument that the lead plaintiff did not meet the typicality and adequacy requirements of a class representative.
