Celebrity Adviser Starr Gets 8 Years For Fraud

Law360, New York (March 2, 2011, 7:38 PM EST) -- Disgraced money manager Kenneth Ira Starr received a sentence of 7 1/2 years in prison on Wednesday in a New York court for stealing about $24 million from his clients and fraudulently investing another $9 million.

Judge Shira A. Scheindlin sentenced Starr in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to 90 months in federal custody and an additional three years of supervised release, ordering him to pay at least $29.1 million in restitution.
