2nd Circ. Affirms Ex-Stan Lee Exec's Fraud Sentence

Law360, New York (March 7, 2011, 5:25 PM EST) -- The Second Circuit upheld a plea bargain Monday that gave Stan Lee Media co-founder Peter Paul 10 years in prison for securities fraud despite Paul's claims that the judge coerced him into agreeing to the deal.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit also affirmed an order that Paul pay nearly $11.5 million in restitution to Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. and Spear Leeds & Kellogg LP for margin loans he secured from the banks based on stock in the company that...
