Woman Pleads Guilty To Wheelchair Fraud Scheme

Law360, New York (March 8, 2011, 1:22 PM EST) -- A woman pled guilty in a California court Monday to participating in a criminal scheme run by her brother to submit $3.5 million in false claims to Medicare for power wheelchairs.

Before Judge George H. King of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Las Vegas resident Jummal Joy Ibrahim pled guilty to allowing her brother, Christopher Iruke, to use her identity to set up a fraudulent medical equipment company called Contempo Inc., according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
