What's Next For Independent R&D Costs

Law360, New York (March 15, 2011, 1:28 PM EDT) -- On March 2, 2011, the U.S. Department of Defense issued a proposed rule that would condition the allowability of independent research and development (IR&D) costs charged to DOD contracts on reporting IR&D projects when a contractor’s annual IR&D costs exceed $50,000.

The rule would require contractors to report IR&D projects to the Defense Technical Information Center.
