Airlines, Chicago Reach Deal Over O'Hare Expansion

Law360, New York (March 14, 2011, 4:47 PM EDT) -- United Air Lines Inc. and American Airlines Inc. have brokered an accord with Chicago that clears the way for the $1.17 billion second phase of a planned expansion of O'Hare International Airport, the carriers and the city announced Monday.

The settlement agreement gives the city the green light to go forward with the second phase of the project, with the terms and timing of the remaining $2.23 billion of work to be negotiated by March 2013, according to the joint statement.
