Imus Insult Sparks NYPD Discrimination Suit

Law360 (April 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three female police officers are suing the New York City Police Department after other officers allegedly called them “nappy-headed hos,” the same insult radio host Don Imus infamously used to describe the Rutgers University women’s basketball team.

In a complaint filed Friday with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Tronnette Jackson, 36, Maria Gomez, 29, and Karen Nelson, 31, who all work at the same precinct in Brooklyn, accused the NYPD of sexual harassment and racial discrimination.
