NFL Blasts Players' Injunction Bid In Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 7:26 PM EDT) -- The NFL fired back at its players Monday in Minnesota federal court, saying their attempts to fight a league lockout by dissolving their union and filing antitrust claims ran afoul of national labor laws.

Under federal employment law, the court has no authority to order an end to the NFL lockout, and any injunction request has to wait until the National Labor Relations Board issues a ruling on the legitimacy of the National Football League Players Association's decision to stop representing the players in labor talks,...
