Dick's Atty Gets 5 Years For Developer Kickbacks

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 5:45 PM EST) -- A real estate attorney who worked for Dick's Sporting Goods was sentenced to five years in prison Friday for funneling what prosecutors say was $2 million in developer kickbacks to a company executive.

Prosecutors say Benjamin Viloski, 62, acted as a conduit for kickbacks from developers involved in buy-leaseback deals to Joseph Queri Jr., a senior Dick's real estate executive who could not openly accept money. A jury convicted Viloski of nine fraud-related charges in July.
