AT&T Must Share Customer Info With Time Warner: FCC

Law360 (April 6, 2011, 4:29 PM EDT) -- The Federal Communications Commission said Wednesday it had ordered AT&T Inc. to reveal subscriber numbers in certain San Antonio communities to allow Time Warner Cable Inc. to demonstrate it is subject to effective competition in the market.

Citing confidentiality concerns, AT&T had refused to turn over its subscriber numbers, but the FCC Media Bureau found that Time Warner needed the information to show that more than 15 percent of the households in the market subscribe to competing multichannel video program distributors, or MVPDs.
