Hevesi Gets 4 Years For Role In NY Pension Scheme

Law360, New York (April 15, 2011, 12:01 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge sentenced former State Comptroller Alan Hevesi to up to four years in prison Friday for accepting nearly $1 million in gifts and contributions for approving the state investment fund's $250 million investment in a venture capital firm.

Hevesi will spend at least one year and up to four years behind bars, said Judge Michael J. Obus of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York.
