Middleman Pleads Guilty In Galleon Spinoff Case

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 6:40 PM EDT) -- The alleged middleman in an insider trading scheme involving former Ropes & Gray LLP attorneys and an ex-Galleon Group LLC employee pled guilty on Thursday in New York to securities and conspiracy charges.

Jason Goldfarb, 32, admitted in Manhattan federal court to helping obtain sensitive tips for a friend Zvi Goffer, a former Galleon trader who has been nicknamed “the Octopussy” because of his reputed access to inside information sources.
