Judge Confirms Lime Wire Infringement Was Willful

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 5:48 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Monday confirmed that an earlier decision in the record industry’s copyright battle against Lime Wire LLC found that the file-sharing company’s secondary copyright infringement was willful.

Looking to clear up a dispute between the parties over her May ruling, U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood said in a brief order that when she granted summary judgment in favor of Arista Records LLC and several other major record companies on their claims against Lime Wire and founder Mark Gorton for secondary copyright...
