Art Gallery Accused Of Forgery Plot Seeks Insurer's Help

Law360, New York (May 9, 2011, 12:57 PM EDT) -- An art gallery sued an American International Group Inc. affiliate in Washington state on Friday after the insurer refused to indemnify it and major cruise lines in a multidistrict litigation over allegedly fake Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Rembrandt van Rijn works sold at auctions aboard cruise ships.

Park West Galleries Inc. and its subsidiaries claimed AIG affiliate Illinois National Insurance Co. wrongfully denied defense coverage in the underlying lawsuits, which also named Holland America Line Inc., Carnival Corp., Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and related companies...
