Coffee Cos. Hit With Suit Over Carcinogen In Brew

Law360, New York (May 11, 2011, 8:05 PM EDT) -- The Council for Education and Research on Toxics launched a suit in California on Monday against more than 40 companies including Starbucks Corp. and Dunkin’ Donuts LLC, accusing them of failing to warn consumers about carcinogens in their coffee.

CERT targets a huge number of coffee suppliers in its suit asserting violations of California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, better known as Proposition 65.
