Universal Settles Suit Over 'Into The Wild' Song

Law360, New York (May 23, 2011, 9:13 PM EDT) -- Canadian singer Indio on Friday dropped a suit against his former label Universal Music Publising Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corp., which allegedly put a cover of Indio's song "Hard Sun" in the movie "Into the Wild" without permission.

U.S. District Judge Richard Sullivan entered an order ending the case, saying the parties had settled. The order did not outline the terms of the deal, and attorneys for both sides did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
