Blagojevich Says He Didn't Try To Sell Obama Senate Seat

Law360, New York (June 1, 2011, 8:25 PM EDT) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich told jurors Wednesday that he never demanded anything or threatened anyone in exchange for an appointment to President Barack Obama’s vacant U.S. Senate seat, addressing a crucial allegation he faces in his corruption retrial.

In his fourth day on the stand defending against allegations that he tried to trade political favors for campaign cash, Blagojevich worked to explain a now-infamous comment recorded on an FBI wiretapped conversation he had in November 2008 with consultant Doug Scofield.
